Pipe insulation jacketing on commercial HVAC and mechanical systems is the highest-volume application for stainless banding. USABAND 201 SS 1/2" band coil with matching buckles is the standard specification for most mechanical insulation contractors, with bright or matte finish available on request.
Typical applications include: chilled water piping, steam piping, duct securing, equipment vibration isolation, and air handler mounting.
High-vibration exhaust wraps, marine hose securing, and engine-bay bundling demand a banding system that holds under thermal cycling and resists chloride corrosion. Specify 316 SS for any application within 50 miles of saltwater or with regular chemical exposure.
316 SS includes a molybdenum addition over standard 201 SS band that significantly improves pitting resistance in chloride environments. Same dimensional tolerances and tooling — just a grade change at ordering.
Pipeline bundling, structural securing, and equipment mounting in refineries and processing facilities. 316 SS is specified up to 3/4" band width wherever chemical splashing and temperature cycling demand the strongest corrosion resistance; the 201 SS heavy-duty line covers the 1" and 1-1/4" structural widths where higher tensile strength is the priority.
Common applications: pipe bundle securing, cable tray attachment, insulation retention on process piping, equipment hold-down strapping, and structural banding at elevated temperatures.
Pole-mount signage, traffic control hardware, telecom and utility attachment, and cable bundling on structures. Band selection is driven by pole diameter and sign load rating. USABAND produces both stainless and galvanized options for this market.
Applications include: street sign pole mounting, traffic light arm securing, fiber and coax cable bundling on utility poles, camera and sensor pole-mount attachment, and antenna securing on towers.
